Project Description
These grants would go directly towards the purchase of trees to replace those which have fallen during recent storms. The damage caused by recent storms has significantly diminished Greenbelt's tree canopy.
Project Updates
The Tree Grant applications due December 29, 2023, at 4 pm. Staff to start vetting the applicants to confirm required documents have been submitted with the grant applications. Next step will be to provide the ACT access to the grant applications to review.

The City of Greenbelt is awarding a one-time, reimbursable grant to go directly towards the purchase of trees to assist homeowners and community organizations with the planting or replacement of trees caused by storm damage, disease or invasive insects. Funding for this grant will be provided through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), and can be used to purchase, install, stake and mulch the area the tree or trees will be planted.
