Mobile Diabetes Clinic

Luminis Health Services will work with the City of Greenbelt to offer 4-5 mobile diabetes awareness and education events for the community. Their Community Health team will be comprised of bi-lingual providers, nurses and community health educators who will deliver a comprehensive diabetes awareness and education outreach program.

The primary objective of the Diabetes Prevention program is to reduce the health disparities among racial and ethnic minority populations and improve health care access and health outcomes in underserved communities, resulting in lower health care costs, hospital admissions and readmissions.

Doula Services

Luminis Health will provide doula guided support and education to improve maternal and fetal outcomes. The target population are residents of the City of Greenbelt, who are patients of the Luminis Health Obstetrical practice located in Greenbelt. The patient population seen at LH Greenbelt exhibits a high prevalence of co-morbities including hypertension, obesity, gestational diabetes and cardiac disease. This patient population will benefit significantly with the offering of comprehensive pre and post-natal doula services.

Expected improved outcomes include reduced racial disparities for Nulliparous, Term, Singelton, Vertex (NTSV) C-Sections, reduction in postpartum depression and increased health care provider knowledge about the benefits of culturally competent doula support.
